Chairman of the Russian-Turkish Business Council Ahmet Palankoev, at the international forum Global Tourism Forum, in an interview with the Sputnik newspaper, said that the Bodrum Arena project, which is an initiative of the business Council, will be built with the help of Russian technologies, said the following:

"The main function of the complex is an ice rink, but it will be a multifunctional transformer, that is, in a few hours it can be transformed into a conference hall, exhibition and concert hall. All conditions for athletes ' training will be created here. We want to open a school where the younger generation who are interested in hockey, ice skating and other sports can get an education. Of course, this complex was designed to host major international competitions, ice shows, and concerts. Our project includes our selected athletes. I think this will have a good impact on the tourism indicators of not only Bodrum, but also the whole of Turkey. To date, ice sports in Turkey are not sufficiently developed. We are in contact with the Figure Skating Federation and the Ice Hockey Federation, and we have received support from them. I think this project is interesting for both Turkey and Russia. This is the export of Russian technologies and services. We expect our coaches to work here and train Turkish youth. It also provides an opportunity for training matches. This project is another point of contact between our countries.

Palankoev gave the following answer to the question of what stage the project is at:

"We prepared the project and made a presentation to the Mayor's Office of the city of Bodrum and received support from them. We have also presented it to the federal ministers. We are ready to start implementing the project as soon as the land plot is allocated. According to our estimates, it will take us 2 years to start production. "

“Steps towards a plan that will turn Bodrum into a Turkish Davos”

Assessing Bodrum in terms of investment, Palankoev said: "Bodrum is a very interesting place to stay. Unlike Antalya, until recently there was no tourist flow from Russia. But Bodrum has its own audience - more affluent people. I think this project is an additional opportunity for Bodrum and Russian tourists. In such hot weather, you want a variety, play hockey, go ice skating. This is another additional option for Russian tourists. The construction of this complex will be part of the plan for transformation of Bodrum in the Turkish Davos, as we plan to organize exhibitions, business forums, events in which Turkish and Russian business community will participate and cooperate."
